Excerpt From “Soul Awakening” by Doug Simpson

Soul Awakening is a work of fiction, inspired by a series of actual events. It is a spiritual mystery involving the apparently accidental, though actually orchestrated by Divine Intervention, meeting of three total strangers and their ultimate discovery that they shared previous lifetimes together. It delves into reincarnation, past lifetimes, spirit communication, messages from God, past-life regression sessions, Guardian Angels, past-life recall in the awake state, and soul attraction, the reincarnation of groups of souls together in more than one lifetime.

Excerpt from Chapter 13 of Soul Awakening:

“I just came from a job interview that Max set up with another law firm where he has long-term connections. They hired me on the spot, can you believe it?” Dani advised.

“Of course, it was all part of the plan,” Dacque replied, “but I’m really thrilled about it, too. Congratulations.”

“Thank you.” Dani was about to make a derogatory remark about Dacque’s ‘plan’, but was grateful that she caught herself before she did so. All of the dominoes in her life had been miraculously falling into place since she had met Dacque that day at MacDunnah Park. It was becoming more and more difficult, as time passed, for her to deny that there was some unseen force manipulating the recent events in her life.

After dinner, they lounged in the living room. All week, neither of them had mentioned their discussion from the previous Wednesday about the Edgar Cayce readings. “I read the articles,” Dani informed Dacque, “that you showed me last week on your computer, about how Edgar Cayce discovered his unimaginable powers, and also the ones on the reincarnation of souls. The whole idea is mind-boggling, yet it does make sense in some ways. I started reading the book, There Is A River, but I am not that far along. What I would like to hear about next is your understanding of souls and reincarnation, in simple terms that I can understand, okay?”

“Okay,” Dacque replied. “My initial understanding came from the Edgar Cayce material, but I have also researched other sources. Sometimes one source contradicts information from another source, so we have to try and figure out which version makes more sense to us. Also, keep in mind that there is no real proof, in most cases, of what we read, just like there is no real proof of the existence of God. It basically boils down to believing it on faith, if it makes sense to each one of us.”

“I understand,” Dani acknowledged.

“Apparently, after God created the Universes, and directed the evolution of the Earth in particular, it was a marvelously beautiful place, with all sorts of animals, birds, and other creatures enjoying their environment. Man did not exist then, and was not even in God’s plan. At some point God felt lonely and wanted to share these beautiful surroundings with others.

“Don’t think of God as resembling humans, but more like an enormous field of energy with the ability to think. Apparently, God caused an explosion of some nature within His energy field, and all of the souls were created at the same time by God and from God. Thus, all souls can be considered sons and daughters of God, and brothers and sisters. After you grasp that idea, I need to shake it up on you. Souls are actually sexless, not male or female; it is the bodies that they inhabit that are male and female. Apparently, most of our souls have already been, or in some future incarnation will be, male and female, and will experience many of the different races. There is a very important lesson to be learned here. People who dislike, make fun of, or harm individuals of a particular race, are creating bad karma, and in some future incarnation will be required to incarnate in that particular race and suffer in some similar fashion to the suffering caused. The eye for an eye moral is real.

“At least one soul, the soul of Jesus, has always incarnated as a male. The immaculate conception of Mary did occur as indicated in the Bible. The soul of Jesus had a number of previous incarnations, but that story definitely must wait for another time.

“Apparently, souls are on an educational journey to become God-Like, as they were originally, and part of that educational process involves incarnating in human bodies. When a soul has experienced or learned the proper lessons, it may remain with God, and not need to reincarnate again, but it can also do so if desired, often to be of assistance to another incarnated soul with whom it had a previous incarnation.

“Before the creation of man, and yes I said creation not evolution, souls, as a former part of God were a thinking energy, and some of them strayed from God’s intended path, but not all of them. Apparently there are some God-Like souls that have never incarnated, and these souls may be what we refer to as Angels.”

Dacque paused, and waited for a reaction. Dani appeared to be in a state of shock or hypnosis. “Are you alright?” he asked.

“I have no idea. That was one mind-boggling explanation. I’m not even going to attempt to ask a question right now. I need to think this whole concept through for a while, and may eventually come back with questions, sometime.”
